Tef-Gel is designed to stop corrosion between dissimilar metals in the marine environment for example when using stainless steel screws to fasten aluminium fittings. It also prevents seizing and stops galling of stainless steel nuts and bolts. Vital when attaching stainless fittings to aluminium masts and spars, use to bed the fitting to the mast and between the pop rivets or screws and the fitting. Tef-Gel does not electrically insulate hardware. It contains no volatile solvents and will not evaporate, cold flow or dry out, giving protection for many years and enabling easy disassembly if required. This pack is 20ml equivalent to 28g of Tef-Gel.Directions for use:Apply liberally to all surfaces using the brush provided or other suitable tool. Proper application will effectively lubricate and seal assembled parts, prevent seizing, galling and galvanic corrosion. Use white spirit to remove excess Tef-Gel. Wash off skin with soap and water.Manufacturers Description:The function of Tef-Gel in eliminating dissimilar metal corrosion is the elimination of electrolytes from entering the interface of the metallic surfaces. Tef-Gel paste contains 40% PTFE powder and 0% volatile solvents, no silicones or petroleum solvents to evaporate, which would leave voids for electrolytes to be drawn into creating a galvanic cell. When both surfaces are coated and mated with Tef-Gel there are no voids for electrolytes (saltwater) to be drawn in by capillary action over extended periods of time.
