Davey Mast Lights

Solidly cast in bronze an architectural nautical light from Davey and Co. Orignially designed as a mast light used on classic sailing yachts, this is an adaptation of the very traditional design to work from mains power with rear wire exit. An impressive, solid and stylish light that provides a pool of light and retains a hint of nautical feel when placed on a building. As well as being suitable for larger vessels with mains voltage or shoreside installations, these also make a classy wall lamp for your home. The base is angled up 10 degrees to help the throw of light. The Davey melon prism deck light casts more light below than other deck lights, and also has the benefit of taking up a comparatively small amount of space on deck. However as it has the greatest depth of all decklights, care should be taken when fitting above walkways or other areas to ensure adequate headroom. Finished with a gunmetal plate on the deck and installed recessed into the deck (marine sealant required). 7 1/2" (190mm) total wide, 5 1/2" (140mm deep).

Cast in gunmetal with a polished finish, these flat rings are supplied as outside finishing rings with our portlights but can also be ordered separately here for use as glazing rings or other applications. Also available chrome plated or in polished stainless steel.

Ideal for larger hatches or those requiring a good length of travel, you may for example need the screw a long way from the hatch this brass stay is a simple and strong design.

One of the more tradtional deck lights from Davey, the rectangular Rabetted deck prism is set into the deck and brings light from above down below. Installation requires the glass to be firstly set in to the deck (thus your deck needs to be thick enough to hold the glass and accept that people will walk over it) and the gunmetal frame is then laid over the rim of the glass and screwed down. You will need a good quality marine sealant to securely set the glass in to the deck. In production since the early 1900's, Davey deck lights and prisms are a tried and tested method to get light down below in your classic vessel.

A solid, well-constructed and well-engineered fixed portlight finished in polished gunmetal. Made in England and CE approved for upper hull areas and cabin sides. They are fitted with toughened glass and are supplied with a polished gunmetal outside finishing plate.

Davey & Co have produced this stunning range of chrome navigation lights ideal for classic boats or for those seeking a superior level of finish on their boat. The chrome lights have been approved by the Italian RINA for boats up to 12 metres, and are supplied with 12v 18w bulbs. A sister product with brass finish is also available. They are 3 1/2" (90mm) high, 2 3/4" (70mm) wide and they project 2 3/16" (62mm) from the surface. Also available in a brass finish.

At home everywhere from the heads or engine room, to the foredeck or a state room, these lights prove that sometimes the simple ideas are the best. Designed to be mounted to a bulkhead, they are available either cast in brass with the inside painted white for better reflection, or in a less weighty the aluminum version which is powder coated in white inside and out. The fixing method involves setting the frame in to the deck and then the glass into the frame. Marine sealant is required to set the glass into the frame.

The Davey round prism deck light is a relatively slimline method of passing light below on a classic boat. The glass is only 3/4" (19mm) deep, and like the other Davey deck lights, sits in the deck and needs to be secured with marine sealant. The round outer gunmetal frame is screwed to the deck.

The deep frame round deck prism is designed for thinner decks than the standard prism, making it possible for use in more modern boats and aluminum or fibreglass, as well as steel or wood. The fixing method involves setting the frame into the deck and then the glass into the frame. The end result from an exterior visual perspective is similar to the standard version. Marine sealant is required to set the glass into the frame. A nice slimline glass means this sits well to avoid obstructing the area below. Overall diameter 10" (250mm), depth 1 1/16" (27mm).

Designed for thinner decks than the standard prism which makes it possible for use in more modern boats and aluminum or fiberglass as well as steel or wood. Although called a step light this is an ideal light for any interior or sheltered areas on board that require subtle low level lighting. The light itself is recessed into the bulkhead and has ribbed heavy duty glass, and a cast brass polished guard. The light and cover project only 1" from the bulkhead. Traditionally known as the 'Jelly Mould', these high quality period deck head lights utilise the same genuine frosted glass, the heavy cast brass housing and are suitable for many kinds of traditional craft. This light comes fitted with a red/white LED. When first switched on it always displays the red light first to preserve your night vision.
