Icom M423GE Fixed VHF Radio with GPS

The IC-M423GE is ideal for customers who are looking for a compact radio for their boat with advanced functions and the option of dual station control. The radio features built-in active noise cancelling technology that provides superb audio performance. The optional COMMANDMIC allows you to control all the functions of the IC-M423GE as well as being able to be used as an intercom with the radio. A built-in GPS receiver means the unit can be used stand alone as a DSC VHF with the GPS data and time stored in the VHF. It can also be connected to an external GPS if required.

Other premium upgrades on this M423G includes a premium speaker-microphone handset with buttons for channel up/down, channel 16 and hi/low for transmit power as well as a large 45mm diameter speaker. A built-in amplifier (10w) means you can connect to an external speaker as a PA or to send out the sound of foghorn.

Active noise canceling helps to reduce up to 90% of the background noise of the received signal and 30% of the transmitted. If you want a remote station for the VHF we also sell a fully functioning command mike for this VHF either as a package with the VHF for separately. The command mike has the same functionality of the main unit and can be up to 60ft from the main unit.

As with all the ICOM fixed units we sell the M423G is rated as IPX7 waterproof, this means you can submerse the unit in up to 1m depth of water for 30 minutes (should you wish). In real terms, it gives you a level of confidence that this is a well built and tested fixed VHF.

Other features include AIS target calling when linked to a MA-500TR Class B AIS transponder this allows you to make an individual DSC call without having to manually enter the MMSI number. Aquaquake water clearance from the speaker (a system of low range sound waves that bounces the water off the speaker for clearer sound after the speaker is wet). The buttons have been laser cut which means they are so tight there is no light escape around them, both improving nighttime light pollution and the look of the unit.
